Meet Serge Lartchenko, MD – Texas Infectious Disease Institute

You know how life’s experiences sometimes have a way of propelling us toward a greater purpose? This notion is so evidently true in the case of Dr. Serge Lartchenko, founder of Texas Infectious Disease Institute in Richardson, Texas.

Even as a young medical student, Dr. Serge Lartchenko had an insatiably curious mind and naturally gravitated toward the strange cases, the complex cases, the puzzling and the odd. So it’s not really a surprise that today, he leads a thriving infectious disease practice of his own, Texas Infectious Disease Institute.

Infectious Disease is a field Dr. Lartchenko has been fascinated with since his training years at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. In fact, he completed specialized fellowship training in Infectious Disease at the renowned Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine, an institution that is known nationally for its Infectious Disease program.

What’s an Infectious Disease Specialist?

Dr. Lartchenko is a medical specialist who is called upon to solve and treat cases that have stumped other medical professionals over the years. Dr. Lartchenko does not specialize in just one organ or system of the human body—he must know the entire body intimately. He looks at his patients as a whole. He is also more than familiar with epidemiology, the study of the patterns, causes and effects of health and disease conditions in defined populations.

Serge Lartchenko, MD opened the doors to the Texas Infectious Disease Institute in 2013, which is housed in the Methodist Richardson Medical campus. At Texas Infectious Disease Institute, Dr. Lartchenko helps people manage and overcome all kinds of infectious diseases and conditions using a variety of innovative and patient-centered therapies.
